Celebration of Mary-Join the Friends of the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception for a Celebration of Mary to be held at the Seminary on Sun, Dec 3. Journey to the heart of Mary through Theology, Spirituality, and the Arts. Beginning with Mass at 10:00am, celebrated by Bishop Andrzej Zglejszewski, Auxiliary Bishop of Rockville Centre, the day will include lunch, presentations by Fr. Michael Whalen, CM, Associate Professor at St. John’s University, Brother Timothy Driscoll, SM, Kellenberg Memorial High School faculty member, and Theresa Bissex, Music Director at Church of St. Rocco in Glen Cove. Christmas Craft Festival—The Annual Christmas Craft Festival at St. Gerard Majella Church will take place Fri,
Dec 1 from 4:00-9:00pm and Saturday, Dec 2 from 9:30am-3:00pm. Shop for unique crafts, vendor items, jewelry, kid’s items, and white elephant specials. Kids can enjoy games, photos with Santa, and a special shopping area. Light meals and snacks served. St. Gerard Majella Church is located at 300 Terryville Road in Port Jefferson Station.

Christmas Fair—At St. James Church, 429 Route 25A in Setauket, Sat, Dec 2 from 10:00am-4:00pm. Visit one of the largest mini nativities (called a presepio) in the world, shop with many vendors, take pictures with Santa, make-and-take crafts for kids, entertainment, food, and raffles. Ministry to Families with Special Needs—Families who have members with special needs or developmental disabilities often find it difficult to attend weekly Mass together. St. James Parish in Setauket offers a special Mass for these families each month at 1:00pm followed by refreshments and fellowship. This Mass will be offered on the following date for the remainder of 2017: Dec 9.

Retreat in Assisi and Visit Rome - Fr. Jim McNamara invites you to a special retreat in the footsteps of St. Francis and St. Clare in Assisi Jun 15 – 25, 2018. Fr. McNamara will give two conferences a day for six days in Assisi with Mass each day in the various Churches. There is ample time for prayer and visiting the holy places. The entire city of Assisi becomes the retreat house. Accommodations at the Hotel Posta in Assisi, then spend three days in Rome at Domus Carmelitana, not far from St. Peter’s.

Volunteers Needed—Maria Regina Residence, located at 1725 Brentwood Road in Brentwood, is seeking compassionate men and women who are willing to volunteer their time in varied service areas (usually one morning or afternoon per week) in assisting residents in their wheelchairs, assisting with recreational service or other needs in the building. Maria Regina Residence is a 188-bed Skilled Nursing Facility under the care of the Sisters of St. Joseph.
