Benefits & Resources Event for Veterans—Sat, Apr 27 from 9:00am-1:00pm at the Long Island State Veterans Home, Multipurpose Room, 100 Patriots Road in Stony Brook. Experts will be on hand to answer questions related to VA Benefits, Insurance and Managed Care, Medicaid, Affordable Housing, Home Care, Assisted Living, Nursing Homes, Mental Health, Banking, Funeral Arrangements, Food Stamps and Heating Assistance, Burial Benefits and more. Representatives from Northport VA Eligibility and Enrollment will be on site. Free health, dental and vision screenings including free blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose checks. Italian Heritage Night - hosted by the Dr. Vincenzo Sellaro Lodge #2319, Thursday, April 25th at 7:00 PM in ther Byzantine Resurrection Church Parish Hall located at the intersection of Mayflower and Edgewater Avenues, in Smithtown. The evening will feature a narrated virtual tour and presentation of the Miracle of Camp 60—The Italian Chapel of Orkney, Scotland, which was built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II. Spring Break 2019 with the Smithtown Historical Society—For children ages 6 to 12. All programs are drop-off and run from 9:30am to 12:30pm. $30 per day for non-members, $25 for members or sign up for the whole week at a discount. Pre-registration required.
