A Christmas Message From the Desk of Fr. Fred:

A Christmas Reflection

What is the true spirit of Christmas?  Have we found it in our country or our lives this year?  Isn’t it that spirit that leads all to peace and happiness?  How do we accomplish this seemingly impossible task?  Well, I think we must go back to the roots of this wonder-filled feast . . Christ’s birthday.  There lies the heart and soul of what we are about this time of year.  There is no room in our lives for those things that distract us from the heart and soul.  And so often, we give in to that temptation.  We get caught up in the materialism of our day and the heart gets hardened and the spirit is extinguished.  What do we have left?  There’s an emptiness in one’s life and a loneliness.  But the Christ child, in his simplicity, thrusts himself into our world and into our lives and renews our hearts and spirits every year.  Hopefully, we will learn this year.  Look to one another, as God’s gifts to one another.  There we’ll find the spirit of Christmas.  Never allow the wonder of this birth of Christ to be extinguished.

A joyous and wonder-filled Christmas to you all!
Father Fred
