Faith Formation Programs

(Religious Education)

  • Children's Religious Formation
    • The Religious Formation program prepares children for the reception of Sacraments and seeks to set them on a lifelong journey with God.  Classes take place weekly for children in grades one through eight.  It also features Family Liturgies, service projects and a special education program.  Children in grades one and two are prepared for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Communion.  In grades three through five, children learn about the beliefs and practices of the Catholic Church, with emphasis on integrating their faith into their everyday lives.  Young people in grades six and seven are prepared to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in eighth grade.
The program relies heavily on volunteers.

  • Adult Religious Formation
    • St. Patrick's offers a variety of classes to help adults deepen and become more knowledgeable about their faith.  The courses also meet the diocesan requirements for Basic and Advanced Theology Certification, and Catechetical Specialist Certification.  Course offerings usually include the full range of Basic Ccourses (Hebrew Scriptures, Christian Scriptures, Christology, Morality, Church and Liturgy) as well as some Advanced Course offerings.

  • RCIA:
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
    • The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults and the Rite of Christian Initiation Adapted for Children are programs for adults and young people who wish to become Catholic or who have not received all the Sacraments of Initiation.  Full initiation takes place at the Easter Vigil.
