Adult Faith Formation

It is not only the young that can benefit from programs to grow and learn their faith.  Adult Religious/Faith Formation helps individuals continue their journeys in Christ.  It is also a program that provides a Diocesan Certification for those interested if further service to the Church.

The Diocese of Rockvill Center's web site provides more information on the programs and a list of other parishes that are offering classes.

Adult Religious Formation

Adult Religious Formation

While most Catholics receive religious instruction, or Catechisis, as a child, it also is very beneficial for adults.  The late Bishop John McGann described it as "a life-long process" and "the primary task of the Church."

St. Patrick's offers many opportunities for this through its Adult Education program.  Courses are offered on Basic and Advanced levels and meet the diocesan requirements for Basic Theology Certification, Advanced Theology Certification, and Catechetical Specialist Certification.  Classes usually are offered in the evenings  Instructors have advanced degrees in Theology or Religious Studies and are certified by the Diocesan Office of Catechsis and Worship.

This past year, the parish will be offering Basic Level courses such as: "Hebrew Scriptures" "Morality" "New Testament". In addition, Advanced Level courses will be offered such as "Created In God's Image" an Advanced Theology Certificate course in the Spirituality / Methodology category.

Both parishioners and non-parishioners can participate in the program, either for credit or for personal faith enrichment.

For more information on this Religious Studies Program, please vist the Office of Faith Formation for the Diocese of Rockvill Center.
This link http://www.drvc-faith.org/religiousStudies.html will have in-depth information on the program.

This years tentative schedule of courses is listed below. Please contact the rectory for more information and course registration.
