Notes on Student Classes-
There is a great deal of material to cover in order to prepare for the beautiful Sacrament of Confirmation. Our Level 7 program is held on Sunday mornings. This allows for “No Absences” except for cases of illness, injury or extenuating circumstances. Any student who misses class because of family vacations, sporting events, dance competitions, scouting trips, etc. (these are not considered extenuating circumstances) may be asked to delay reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation until all requirements can be satisfied. This sacrament can only be received once in a person’s life. The proper preparation of the candidate is key to receiving the fullness of the gifts of the sacrament. Please take this into consideration when scheduling the candidates other extra-curricular activities.

September 21st, 2009 at 7:30 in Canning Hall
Level 7 Parent/Student Orientation
For all Level 7 students and their parents, this meeting is intended to inform families of the process that takes place throughout the year here at St. Patrick’s. All families will meet in Canning Hall and parents will join students in the clasrooms later that evening. Blue Slips and Commitment Covenant are to be handed in to your child’s Catechist on this evening (see below.)
We are calling our young people to a commitment to share Christ’s life by accepting their role in the Church. We are asking them to open themselves to God’s presence, be aware of the movement of the Spirit in their lives and accept the risk that leads to mature Christian growth so they are fully prepared to go forth and lead others to Christ.
At this Orientation meeting, both students and parents will receive packets containing important information. The yellow packet is to be completed and presented to the Pastor at the Liturgy of Commitment on Sunday, November 23rd, 2008 during the 9:00 AM Mass. This Liturgy of Commitment and the Yellow Confirmation Packet are a requirement of Confirmation.
Another requirement is the Commitment Letter, which you have recieved in a mailing. The Letter of Commitment is to be read and signed by parents and candidate. Please bring both this Letter of Commitment and the Blue Slip (mailed separately) with you to the Orientation Meeting as the candidate will need them to be admitted to class.
