Notes on Level 8 Program
-
Our program for Level 8 will be somewhat different from Level 7. We will begin the year with our Level 8 Parent Orientation on Tuesday, September 8th at 7:30 PM to 8:45 PM. Students will begin instructional classes on Monday Night, November 2nd. Students will then come for instructional classes during the week (16 in all) and there will be 3 “Parents Only” nights, one of which is the orientation. On these nights the students remain home. The students will finish out the year with their retreats, practice, and reception of the Sacrament.
The attendance policy will be strictly enforced. “No Absences” except for cases of illness, injury or extenuating circumstances. (Extenuating circumstances do not include extra curricular activities such as dance, scouts, sports etc.) Please remember that the Sacrament of Confirmation is a choice and can only be received once in a person’s life while other events continue to run year after year. A confirmation candidate must be ready and willing to accept for themselves the privileges and responsibilities that go along with preparing for this very special Sacrament.
Students are required to attend Mass every week- (Saturday evening and/or Sunday) and all Holy Days of Obligation. Students are to complete their Mass Assignment and hand them to their catechists on Mondays. These too, are requirements for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
