"My God, My God,
Why Have You Forsaken Me?"

All of us face challenges every day and manage to overcome them.  We do this through our faith and the help of our family and friends. What if these connections were no longer there for you?  To whom would you turn?

These are the questions that formerly incarcerated persons must face as they re-enter society.

Prison Ministry

Philemon Fellowship of Beginning a New Life, Inc.

The Philemon Fellowship of Beginning a New Life, Inc. has an established program for those who been convicted and, like Jesus on the cross, suffer for a compassionate voice.  They can hear that voice in our correctional facilities when chaplains conduct services that focus on repentance and forgiveness.  On the outside, they hear the voice when mentors offer spiritual guidance and support services during a transitional period.

But the most moving voices are our New Leaders, members who speak at our retreats to inmates at the correctional facilities in which they were once confined.  Their inspirational talks emphasize God’s unconditional love and the transformation that has taken place in their lives.

At the present time, there are many more persons in need of help than the Philemon Fellowship can accommodate.  Among those are persons with college-level educations, business management and professional experience, and a broad range of technical skills.  They made wrong decisions, paid the price, and are determined not to repeat.

Their chances of overcoming their past histories and the barriers they face may well depend upon whether they have the support and encouragement of a mentor.  If this ministry is one you might consider joining now or in the future, we invite you to attend one of our informational meetings.
