St. Patrick's R.C. ChurchStained Glass WindowsSymbols of the ChurchThe Catholic Church as a rich tradition of grace received through the teachings of scripture, the sacraments and the Liturgies of the Holy Mass. The importance of this is recognized at St. Patrick’s by the dedication of various stained glass windows. Most of these windows are found surrounding the sanctuary, which is “home” to the Liturgy and many of the sacraments. The large window on the south wall of the east transept depicts the symbolic representations of the Four Gospel Writers. The other large window on the south wall of the west transept shows the symbols of the Holy Eucharist. The smaller window behind the choir section shows the symbols of the Sacrament of Baptism. Its pair, on the right side of the church, has symbols of the Sacrament of Marriage. In the reconciliation rooms there are windows with symbols of healing and peace. In the Sign-in Room (not open to the public), there is a small window with the symbols of the Liturgies of the Holy Mass. |
