Catholic Daughters
St. Patrick’s is home to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, known as Court Queen of the Universe #1702, which was established in July 1955. Our CDA members participate in religious, charitable, and educational works in keeping with their motto: “Unity and Charity.”
Our CDA Court is a particularly vibrant one. From September through June, members meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. to discuss upcoming local, State, and National CDA events, plan future activities, and socialize. There is also a CDA Novena Mass at 7:30 p.m. on the third Monday of the month.
Our Court hosts several fundraisers throughout the year, including a Birthright Baby Shower to help mothers and infants in need, two popular annual bake sales, a Mother’s Day flower sale, plus varying events which in the past have included such fun activities as a Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show, a buffet dinner and Line Dancing Night, Chinese Auction, Scholarship Luncheon, raffles, etc. These events are varied and always lots of fun! The fundraisers make it possible for St. Patrick’s CDA to offer scholarships to Catholic high school students, as well as help support several charitable organizations such as St. Patrick’s Parish Outreach Program, Pro-Life, and Lenten Project, Hope House, Birthright, Habitat for Humanity, our seminarians, and many state and national CDA projects.
Young ladies in grades 6 through 11 who are interested in serving the needs of our community can join our Junior Catholic Daughters chapter, which meets on the third Tuesday of every month throughout the school year.
For information on becoming a CDA or Junior CDA member, please email CDA Regent Kristine Chayes at kchayes@optonline.net. We look forward to welcoming you as a future member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas!
